Senior School Mathematics

Senior School Mathematics at Yankalilla offers students the opportunity to study a wide range of courses. The flexible nature of the classes and staffing caters for a wide range in abilities. Smaller class sizes especially in Years 11 and 12 provide ample opportunities for individual attention. Students are regularly given problem solving challenges and directed investigations are an integral part of the course work. At Yankalilla the use of graphic calculators and spreadsheet programs are integrated into the Mathematics curriculum from Year 10 onwards.

In recent times our students have had the opportunity to study Mathematics across school sites via Centra technology. This internet based system allows students to both hear and see what the delivering teacher is presenting in real time.
This year both Mathematical Studies, and Mathematical Applications at Stage 2, have been delivered via Centra with students actively engaging in this mode of tuition.
