Senior School (Years 11-13)

Being the best we can be

The senior school learning community consists of diverse and vibrant individuals who are at the very heart beat of our local community; whether this be through sporting representations, volunteering as CFS or Surf Life Saving constituents or employment. This and the learning environment provided by our dedicated and committed team of senior teachers has been an effective formula to providing students with successful pathways in both tertiary training and employment.

Equally, the basis and underpinning delivery on outstanding SACE Achievements is a direct result of an inclusive, supportive, warm and encouraging school community which guides every learner to acquire lifelong skills and achieve their best.

As a senior school community we are committed to providing all of our students with a stimulating and caring environment to enable them to achieve success.

Through the establishment of meaningful partnerships between students, families, educators and the wider community we aim to enhance student well-being and improve student engagement through a highly individualised learning program.

  • Relationships are enhanced in the senior years through our smaller classes and this in turn increases successful learning outcomes for our students.

  • Students are empowered and challenged through participation and self governance.

  • We offer a broad ICT based curriculum with a developing focus on the natural environment and sustainable practices.

  • Our teaching is student-centred with a strong emphasis on collaboration and interactive learning. Staff are also able to deliver units which are accredited to industrial training standards.

  • The senior school has forged strong links with local employers and employment agencies offering a wide range of traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities.

  • At Yankalilla we continue to be at the forefront in supporting our students in the difficult and complex transition from school to work or further study.
