Enrolments and Transition

Our transition program for Kindergarten to Reception is designed to ensure a smooth start to formal schooling. We engage children in activities that familiarise them with the school enviroment, routines and expectations. This includes orientation sessions and interaction with future classmates and teachers. Kindergarten students who attend Yankalilla Community Children’s Centre are invited to be a part of our Reception Transition Program in the year prior to commencement at Yankalilla Area School.

Year 6 Transition

Transitioning into middle years can be significant change for children and families, but at Yankalilla Area School we're committed to making the process as smooth as possible. Our team has developed a series of transitional visits to help students and families prepare for the next phase of their acadamic journey. 

Year 6 children who attend Rapid Bay or Myponga Primary Schools are invited to be a part of our Year 6 Transition Program in the year prior to commencement at Yankalilla Area School.
